A Continuation...

During the time that I spent in southern Africa working in three of Zambia's refugee camps under the umbrella of the United Nations Refugee Agency, I vowed to create a blog to express my sentiments, experiences, challenges, and ideas. However, due to an overwhelming lack of access to resources including internet, power, and transportation, the blog was created but never really made it off the ground. In lieu of an e-journal, I filled up 3.5 hardcopy journals, which I was able to carry with me throughout my journey in rural Africa. Now that I have returned to the United States, I would like to make some of these writings available for friends and family who have wondered about my life and experiences of the past year. I would also like to elaborate on inchoate ideas and descriptions of experiences that I have sketched upon these dusty lined pages. Therefore, I am taking on a project to transcribe the essence of what has been recorded in the journals, my photos, and my memory.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Update: It’s starting to look like I’m going to be jumping around chronologically, filling in gaps here and there along the way, and perhaps starting at both ends and generally working my way towards the middle. This might perplex some of my readers and make my entries initially a bit difficult to follow, but this is how my brain works, so I’m just going to have to go with it.
